Why do they fear the crowd more than they fear God?
Matthew 21:26
The moment
The chief priests and elders reason among themselves about John's baptism. If they say 'from heaven,' Jesus will ask why they didn't believe him. If they say 'from men,' they fear the people who hold John as a prophet.
Matthew 21:25-26
Where it points
Joseph, exalted from prison to Pharaoh's throne, provided bread for the nations. Jesus, exalted by God, is the bread of life for the world. Both were rejected, yet through them God fed his people.
Genesis 41:38-57 · Philippians 2:9-11 · John 6:35
For today
When you're tempted to please people instead of God, remember that God's approval matters more than the crowd's. Choose obedience even when it's unpopular.
