Why would anyone kill the heir to take what isn't theirs?
Matthew 21:38
The moment
The farmers see the son and plot, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him, and seize his inheritance.' So they throw him out of the vineyard and kill him.
Matthew 21:38-39
Where it points
This echoes the first Adam, who became a living soul (Genesis 2:7), but the last Adam—Christ—became a life-giving spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45). The farmers sought to seize life, but God gives life through the rejected Son.
Genesis 2:7 · 1 Corinthians 15:45
For today
Today, don't try to grasp what God gives freely. Trust that His Son's death brings life—not by seizing, but by receiving.
