Heavy Burdens, Unmoved Fingers

Have you ever felt crushed by rules no one seems willing to help you carry?

The moment

Jesus points at the Pharisees: they tie up heavy loads and lay them on people's shoulders, but won't lift a finger to ease the weight.

Where it points

Moses sang that the Lord would vindicate His people and have compassion—He alone repays. That promise finds its home in Christ, who carries our burdens and calls us to leave vengeance to God.

For today

Today, when a rule feels unbearable, remember the Lord who delivers the hungry and thirsty. Then be the one who lifts a finger to help someone else's load.
